The last Wednesday of every month, come and enjoy great music and great people at the cozy alcove at the Church Brewing Company. Hosts Tyler MacDonald and Nic D’Amato set up combos and rotate through whoever shows up based on instrumentation, so participants have an opportunity to sit in or lead one or two standards. Or just come listen! Pay-what-you-can at the door.
Special guest this month is Chris Donnelly. Better known in the Pico-8 community as Gruber, Chris Donnelly is a professional pianist, Steinway Artist, and former jazz player and tutor at the University of Toronto who's taken his love of music in an unexpected direction: composing soundtracks for tiny retro-styled games on the fantasy console Pico-8. With his recent move to Nova Scotia, we look forward to hearing more of this great musician around town.
